  • One of the most frequent assumptions that I get from people when they first see Dylan and I dance is that we are married or dating. That somehow our style of movement implicates a relationship of this nature. Dylan and I aren't married. We aren't dating. Never have. Our friendship of over a decade is rooted in Trust. CONNECTION. Love. Authenticity. It is this that forms the foundation of how we move. Our dance style is a conversation between 2 people.. not a lead framing the picture; not the follow blindly following the lead. We quite literally talk in our dances. We laugh. We cry. We .. FEEL. Each dance is a story created from a place of deep connection and trust.. one that occurs outside of the societal expectation of a conventional relationship. I am fortunate to have friends outside of Dylan that allow me to express myself when I dance.. each offering a different connection, trust, care, and partnership in that space and time that creates an entirely new energy and movement style. A dance adventure if you will. And if you know me, you know I LOVE adventures! Anyone can dance like Dylan and I. It isn't a relationship that makes our flow.. It is our connection to ourselves, each other, and the music.   • Admittedly, we haven't been doing as many big lifts these days between COVID and lack of a space to practice safely. HOWEVER. We got asked if we could do the infamous move from Dirty Dancing.. and obviously we said a resounding YES. We haven't done this lift in 5 years. 3 days of practice and review.. AND WE STILL GOT IT 💃💪 SO HAPPY to start getting back into regular rehearsals and dancing again.   • We've loved 'Whirlwind' since we first discovered it almost 7 years ago. It was performed in our debut as Wren Wild. It was the first trick we tried after my heel surgery.   • It's hard to not get sentimental looking at these pictures. A year ago we were performing in an epic showcase with some AMAZING aerialists. We were dancing to live music 4 nights/week all over town; always thinking ahead to our next dance adventure. COVID may have altered our timeline a bit [ok a lot], but we are still here..   • After 10 months of not dancing, I worried that we would have lost our flow. Our feeling. Several songs into our first real rehearsal since March, and something felt.. off. Epiphany: in all the hate, chaos, and stress of 2020, I unintentionally created such a strong emotional boundary that despite being a highly sensitive empath, I felt.. numb. Turns out the path back to my love of dancing isn't through movement at all.. but allowing the emotion to flow through me again.
